FRAMINGHAM, Mass.—-The worldwide converged mobile device market reached a new record level in a single quarter. According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped a total of 54.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2009 , up 39.0% from the same quarter a year ago.
